Have questions about WorderMurder? You're in the right place. Find answers to common questions about gameplay, power-ups, story progression, and more.
Gameplay Questions
Can I use the same letter twice in a word?
No, each letter can only be used once per chain. The exception are the special 'WordSearch' levels where letters stay on the board between moves.
What happens if I run out of moves?
If you run out of moves before completing all objectives, you'll need to restart the level. Use power-ups strategically or try a different approach to complete objectives more efficiently. Don't worry—each attempt teaches you something new about the puzzle!
Do I need to complete all tasks to progress?
Yes, you must complete all level objectives to advance to the next level. However, you can replay completed levels to improve your star rating and earn more coins. Replaying levels is a great way to master word chaining techniques!
How do I unlock new chapters?
Progress through the story by completing levels and earning stars. Each chapter requires a certain number of stars to unlock, revealing more of Laura's mystery. The more stars you earn, the faster you'll uncover the truth!
What's the difference between 1, 2, and 3 stars?
Stars are awarded based on how many moves you have remaining when you complete a level. 3 Stars means maximum moves remaining (excellent efficiency), 2 Stars means some moves remaining (good performance), and 1 Star means minimal moves remaining (you completed it, but just barely).
Power-Ups & Strategy
What are power-ups and how do I use them?
Power-ups are special abilities that help you complete levels. Cards shuffle the board, Bullet removes bad tiles, and Glasses reveal hints. Purchase them with coins earned from completing words. Use them strategically—don't waste them on easy levels! Learn more in our power-ups guide.
How do I earn coins?
Coins are earned by finding words, especially longer ones. The longer your word chain, the more coins you'll earn. Complete levels efficiently to maximize your coin collection, then spend them wisely in the shop on power-ups or special content.
When should I use power-ups?
Save power-ups for challenging levels where they'll make the biggest difference. If you're stuck on a level after several attempts, that's the perfect time to use a power-up. Don't use them on easy levels—you'll need them later when puzzles get more complex!
